Facebook is close to being the largest search engine -- may surpass Google at some point -- from what I have read. It can be good for business.
In order to establish a business page you have to first establish a personal page. It's evolving, and I have to admit I went into it kicking and screaming (well, not quite). I then passed the job over to my marketing assistant, Jennifer. She posts the names of our monthly drawing winners, links to the newsletter stories, recipes, shows we are attending, any news that our fans might like to hear, and now we are trying to think of new ways to engage them. A couple of nights ago I posted a notice for people to email photos of their pets with a Maine Warmer as we would like to make a short video of them. One women responded asking about how she could purchase a Maine Warmer.
You would have to think of what people might be interested in knowing about your company or products. Who, in your company, would aspire to this kind of thing?
Once you have a Facebook account (it's free -- except for the time), find Maine Warmers and you can see some of our posts. Then set your creative mind to work and I'll bet you can come up with some interesting and fun things to post. It's amazing how many older people are on Facebook. You may want to engage them by asking what their needs are on your Facebook company page.
The advertising is relatively inexpensive if you pay only for impressions. No outbidding for placement.
It's a changing world of marketing, but it is important to stay up with it. I am trying to embrace it instead of fight it.
If you are stressed over marketing or anything else, try relaxing with a Maine Warmer. A Neck Warmer or Back Warmer can help relax tense muscles and even help you fall asleep.
