Facebook is close to being the largest search engine -- may surpass Google at some point -- from what I have read. It can be good for business.
In order to establish a business page you have to first establish a personal page. It's evolving, and I have to admit I went into it kicking and screaming (well, not quite). I then passed the job over to my marketing assistant, Jennifer. She posts the names of our monthly drawing winners, links to the newsletter stories, recipes, shows we are attending, any news that our fans might like to hear, and now we are trying to think of new ways to engage them. A couple of nights ago I posted a notice for people to email photos of their pets with a Maine Warmer as we would like to make a short video of them. One women responded asking about how she could purchase a Maine Warmer.
You would have to think of what people might be interested in knowing about your company or products. Who, in your company, would aspire to this kind of thing?
Once you have a Facebook account (it's free -- except for the time), find Maine Warmers and you can see some of our posts. Then set your creative mind to work and I'll bet you can come up with some interesting and fun things to post. It's amazing how many older people are on Facebook. You may want to engage them by asking what their needs are on your Facebook company page.
The advertising is relatively inexpensive if you pay only for impressions. No outbidding for placement.
It's a changing world of marketing, but it is important to stay up with it. I am trying to embrace it instead of fight it.
If you are stressed over marketing or anything else, try relaxing with a Maine Warmer. A Neck Warmer or Back Warmer can help relax tense muscles and even help you fall asleep.

Internet Marketing and Public Relations
Internet marketing is important, but not the only way to drive business to a Web site. Email newsletters, Facebook, and Google reach a limited number of people. Beyond those places there are other ways of communicating.
Public relations is critical. Planning and taking advantage of opportunities to tell about your business is important for driving visitors to your site. Finding the right opportunities is key.
Responding to all inquiries and orders personally lets your customer know that someone is paying attention to their needs.
Do you have some information to offer? Could you do a presentation on a topic of interest to a lot of people? Are there industry specific seminars, conventions, events that you could attend to learn and meet people? Do you belong to some networking groups? If not, consider making those things part of your public relations program.
Find out who knows who! Find a way to meet important folks in your field.
Don't forget to put your Web site address on your vehicle. You never know who might see it and look you up!
If you are stressed after a long day of work, try heating a Neck Warmer to help relieve the stress. Maine Warmers' Dachshund Neck Warmer (A.K.A. Hot Dog) makes a great gift for a friend who is stressed. Check out their Woolly Bear Neck Warmer, too!

Plan first to buy Business or Corporate Gifts
A little research and planning before purchasing corporate gifts helps insure success in finding what is appropriate. Associations, corporations, and other organizations often purchase corporate gifts for attendees at conventions and special meetings. Consideration of purpose, recipients’ interests, how many, how far they will be traveling, and budget should be addressed.
Finding companies that supply corporate gifts via recommendations and obtaining references may save a lot of headaches. Getting a quote and knowing the company will honor the price and deliver on time are critical to the success of the program.
Are logos required, desired, or not necessary? Attaching a business card to a gift instead of an expensive logo may be more appropriate for higher end gifts. Usually gifts are given so the recipient will feel good and remember who gave them the gift.
Consider the gift as a reflection of your organization and write a note to accompany it. Deliver it in person if possible. I recall my husband and I going to a convention related to his work. In our hotel room there was a lovely fruit basket with a hand written note. I was impressed!
Maine Warmers’ Cozy Bears make a great business or corporate gifts. They are personal without being too personal, functional, and decorative. Sheep, Moose, and Back Warmers make lovely gifts as well.
